Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to empower you to both identify and modify the way you think, feel and behave. It can help break cycles of negative thinking and behaving, which are no longer serving you well. It is an approved, evidence based treatment widely used in the NHS to treat Depression and Anxiety, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Health Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Phobias, including Social Anxiety. Therapy is weekly, typically lasting between 4-20 sessions.
Couples Therapy for Depression (CTFD) aims to help couples understand the ways in which difficulties in their relationship can contribute to depression in one, or sometimes both partners. Often couples find it hard to talk openly and honestly with each other, and so meeting with a couple therapist can open the way to better communication, which is key to improving relationships.
CTFD helps couples be more aware of their partner’s needs, become less stuck, have a greater understanding of their partner and themselves, and manage feelings of anxiety and stress which can arise from challenges within their relationship.
Ultimately, CTFD can help you understand yourself and your partner better. It can help you deal with depression and the distress it causes, and help you get back to a feeling of closeness with each other. Therapy is weekly, and can last up to 20 sessions.
